Skiing exercises!

Dear all.

I have just bought a nice & shiny pair of boots for my hols as I invarably try on 3 pairs in one week. However as I have "high volume feet" (Snow&Rock, St Albans thanks!) I had them adjusted in every dimension possible..after 3 Hrs (yes really) they were still a bit uncomfy.

However after a few tests I found out that I have restricted movement in my ankles/calves, creating the uncomfortable feeling in my right foot. I have to say he was correct.

Try this; Head, shoulders and bum to a flat wall and see how far you can bend down without lifting your heels...I managed 3 cm, he did about 25cm, but he was 20 years younger!

I'm now streching every day and I think it's making a difference.

Who's interested?

It's that time again, the N21 Ski Trip!

Same format as last year, with one exception.  Option to have or not breakfast as we are aware that the credit crunch is squeezing us all!

Dates are: Leave the luxury departure point (the Beadles house!) Friday 3rd April around 5ish (after school) returning Sunday 12th April (8 days skiiing in the resort for those really keen!).

We have decided to stay in Val Frejus (the kids would never forgive us leaving the 5-a-side football pitch), same accommodation and same restaurants.  The St Albans crowd (flashy skiers) are in Valloire) but we intend to do a home and away match with them so we can at least see how good skiers ski!!

So, the hard bit, the price....  Dave and Lisa (Snowyourway) have really done their best to give us a good price (the euro is not in our favour).  The price is per person (children and adults pay the same) £431.

This includes: coach there and back, appartment accomodation, packed lunch, afternoon tea, 3 course evening meal with wine, inter reort shuttles and activities during the week.

Extras include ski hire, ski pass and lessons. Adult 6 day pass is £99, child is £86.  We will get prices for for 8 day pass so you can work out the costs more accurately.  Ski hire is cheaper than last year, reduced to £69, children is £35, helmets (a must for kids) are £12.  I am still waiting confirmation on the lesson package, although you don't have to have lessons (Dave and I won't because we are beyond teaching, if you see us ski, you will know what we mean!).ilveb

All we need to need to know now is whether you are in and we'd need the deposit of £75per person!

We are hoping to get a coach filled - and so are looking for 9 families or so.  We will be using this blog to update you all on who is so far so you can start to 'bag' your seat on the coach!  So, and there is a another reason to fill the coach, the price is based on us getting 44 people on the coach!

Oh - for the less hardened, there is the flying option, best to let Lisa know for prices on this.

We will be a pre ski party in February 2009 so we can all get to together and begin to compare notes on our state of pre-ski fitness (or lack of it!).

If you need to check out the resort or company, go to Snowyourway website here.
